Imprints

A tear slowly travels down your face
As I wipe it away I watch it absorb into my skin
I can see all the emotions raw and bleeding
Feel the overflow of the dam that let this go
The vulnerability that is now showing on your face
I’m amazed as the tear takes on a new shape
Fitting my fingerprints and becoming part of me
Leaving and imprint on my heart
Always remembering
